According to the text  Globalization and Diversity Geography of a Changing World (Source 1), globalization is a fast growing and ever changing phenomenon throughout the world .With the rise in new technology, spread of pop culture and fads, and the growth of fast food chains spreading across the globe, people have chosen to either be for or against globalization. The group for globalization make arguments for the spread of technology, the use of other nations resources and the connectivity of nations who a century ago had no communication. The groups against make arguments that globalization removes individuality from society and destroys traditional economies. In my group's opinion, globalization is good for the world, as well as for our country, Australia. According to an article on swirk,(Source 2) Australia has an abundance of natural resources, and although they country utilizes all aspects of their wealth of resources there is not enough population in Australia to use all of them; therefore they allocate there resources to other parts of the world. Because of the many resources Australia exports, their countries economy was greatly strengthened. The country has not fallen into the deep national debt that so many countries in today's society have, and globalization is to thank for that. Australia has maintained a good balance between their exports and their imports, equalizing their debt. One downfall of globalization in Australia is that their culture is dominated by other larger and much more influential cultures;for example, the United States. Much of Australia's English based media is dominated by US entertainment industries. Australia is influenced more by other cultures than their own, resulting in the loss of much of Australia's traditional culture.
